Despite tumultuous spring weather in Queenstown our outgoing President Khalid Mohammed, with Co-Convenors Brad Stone, Nick Lash and Richard Lloyd produced an ASM to remember. With the Foot & Ankle Society meeting and the Shoulder & Elbow Summit held on the Thursday and Friday before the ASM there was a great turnout with world class Keynote speakers and presentations.
On Sunday afternoon the sports awards were keenly contested at the iconic Jacks Point Golf Club and Cycling along the Shotover Trail. Everyone enjoyed themselves and then raced back to network at the Welcome function.
In total there were 241 delegates plus 60 partners and 80 sponsor reps.

It was very special to hear from the Carousel Presidents giving us a world view of Orthopaedics to begin the meeting.

Kyle Jeray, Femi Ayeni, Paul Tornetta, Khalid Mohammed, Fergal Monsell, Odette Koch & Mark Moroney.
The outstanding lineup of speakers was both engaging and educational with some truly humbling experiences to share. Speakers included Jegan Krishnan, Sumit Raniga, Jeff Hughes & Paul Tornetta to name a few. The theme of “Complications and Complaints in Orthopaedics” was aptly addressed by HDC Commissioner - Morag McDowell, Orthopaedic Surgeon - Denis Atkinson, MCNZ Chair - Rachelle Love, and Medico Lawyer - Jonathan Coates. Many partners then joined the meeting to hear from Silken Laumann and Nick Petrie on managing adversity and mental health.

The Gala Dinner was held at the top of the Gondola at the Stratosphere restaurant. A normally spectacular view was rather obscured by temperamental weather but oysters, champagne and All Blacks made up for it! A great time was had by all.
We celebrated our SET5 graduates. Our sincere congratulations to:
Ailsa Wilson, Caitlin Bodian, Nicola Atkinson, Doug Hancock,
Fraser Prendergast, Justin Mathews, Kong Koul, Mark Zhu,
Michael van der Merwe, Nic Buckley, Ayaaz Ebramjee.

Khalid Mohammed handed over the Presidency to Chris Hoffman.

The Meeting closed on Tuesday afternoon with many delegates and sponsors rushing to the airport to escape the weather bomb and get home before all travel was cancelled for days to come! A memorable ending to a very memorable and successful ASM.
A full gallery of ASM photos will be uploaded at a later date.
Thank you so much to all the delegates, guests, presenters, moderators, and exhibitors, for your participation, knowledge and expertise and to the many who supported us throughout the ASM.
We would like to thank all our sponsors who made the meeting possible, especially our Gold sponsors:
