Clinical Question: Does preservation of Hoffa's fat pad during total knee arthroplasty improve one-year patient reported outcome measures compared to fat pad excision?
Summary: This proposed trial requires ethics approval submission and trial registration. During bilateral total knee arthroplasty procedures, eligible and consenting participants would undergo Hoffa's fat pad excision as part of routine exposure on one side, and preservation on the other. They would be followed through to one year post-operatively to determine if there is significant difference in satisfaction and specifically with anterior knee pain and difficulty kneeling
